Drim dress

Drim is an empire style dress which waistline has been lightly lengthened. Version A features a bodice with a button band, up to you to make it real or fake. Version B features a V-neckline bodice enhanced by a very graphical placket in its centre. Two types of sleeves are available and can be sewn with both bodices. Basic sleeves, stop just under the elbow and are finished by a cuff with an elegant vent. Butterfly sleeves, a little bit longer, give the garment more volume and a pretty movement. You can also choose to make it sleeveless. Feel free to adjust the length of the gathered skirt whether you want a dress or a blouse. Dress versions include in-seam pockets. Get a maxi dress by adding a gathered panel at the bottom.

Supplies :

• Fabric (1,40m wide) :
  • Version A :
    • Sleeveless blouse: 1,20 m; with sleeves: 1,90 m
    • Sleeveless dress: 1,70 m; with sleeves: 2,40 m
  • Version B :
    • Sleeveless blouse: 1,20 m; with sleeves: 1,70 m
    • Sleeveless dress: 1,70 m; with sleeves: 2,20 m
  • To sew the maxi dress, an amount of 90 cm of fabric may be added.

• Lining (dress pockets): One 50 x 50 cm square of fabric
• Bias binding: 1 to 2 m depending on the options. If you want to cut your bias binding in your main fabric, an extra amount of it may be required.
• Formband Iron-On bias tape for version B bodice.
• Optional: 4 buttons 1,5 cm wide. (Version A)

Recommanded fabrics: Medium weight fabrics: Blended cotton, Linen, Viscose, Tencel, Crepe, Twill, Double gauze…
Favour fluid fabrics for the butterfly sleeves.
